HCA
is founded on the belief that to provide quality care, home care workers must
have quality jobs, training and support. To create that type of work
environment, HCA
is organized as an employee-owned cooperative and controlled by home
health aides.
Outstanding Training
New training classes are offered
monthly. If you are interested in becoming a home health aide, please
contact HCA at 267.238.3222 or employment@hcapa.com. You can also
stop by the office Monday through Friday from 10
am
to 2 pm.
Excellent training is the basis of success for every aide. Four
weeks of extensive learning about diseases and the development of a full
range of clinical, communication and problem solving skills are required.
Those who succeed are individuals who can work independently,
manage a complex schedule and respond creatively to difficult situations
at work and at home. Upon completion, HCA graduates are certified as home
health aides, exceeding Medicare certification requirements.

They then enter a twelve week, on-the-job training period. During
this time, new employees meet one on one with a job counselor,
participate in peer groups to share experiences, and attend additional
sessions to reinforce skills learned during the training.
Full Benefits
HCA
aides receive full benefits, including company paid health insurance,
pension plan, life insurance benefits, paid time off, pagers and
transportation passes. After three months of employment, aides can become
worker-owners, entitling them to a share of the company's profits and a
vote at the company's shareholder meeting.
Currently, five home health aides serve on HCA's Board of Directors.
